United Nations championships – Belgium October 2022

Members of Poole Ju jitsu club attended the United Nations congress in Oostend, Belgium the host nation with a cracking performance over the weekend. winning a total of 15 medals (2 X pairs winning) in a sea of talent from the attending countries. Italy, America,

Netherlands, England, Belgium and Gibraltar.

Daisy Hope-Storrie – 1 Silver Pairs demo & 2 Bronzes, Open Hand Kata & Random attacks,

Karen Nuttall – 1 Gold & 1 Silver Pairs demo & Open hand kata

Louisa Hayward – 1 Gold & 1 Silver Continuous fighting

Jaiden Mayne – 2 Golds Ground fighting & Continuous fighting

Andy Walker – 2 Golds Pairs demo & Ground fighting                        15 medals

It was a super busy weekend with the open ceremony on Friday & teams displays and the championships on Saturday covering Open Hand kata, Weapons Katas, Pairs demo, Random attacks Ground fighting & Continuous fighting. The course was on Sunday with the senior instructors from the various countries entertaining the students with brilliant techniques throughout the morning and afternoon sessions. The closing ceremony and lowering of the UNJJ flag ended a brilliant weekend for the team members and travelled home tried but happy.
